KWAME’s Tony Thompson to Serve as Honorary Chair of STLCC Foundation Golf Tournament

Anthony “Tony” Thompson, founder and CEO of KWAME Building Group Inc., will serve as the honorary chair of the St. Louis Community College 50th Anniversary Golf Tournament Sept. 24 at Tapawingo National Golf Club in Sunset Hills.

Headquartered in St. Louis and founded by Thompson in 1991, KWAME is a general contracting firm providing construction services including project management, scheduling, estimating, contract/claims administration and value engineering. Thompson is a member of numerous civic, charitable and professional organizations. He and his wife, Kim, established the KWAME Foundation to support universities and schools that improve educational opportunities for minority students. KWAME has been recognized as one of 48 companies most supportive of historically black college and university engineering schools. Thompson also served on the STLCC Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Proceeds from the golf tournament will provide financial assistance for students through the St. Louis Community College Foundation Scholarship Fund.

The entry fee for the golf tournament is $150 per person or $600 per foursome. The fee includes gift bag, cart, lunch and dinner, plus a silent auction at the dinner. Tournament sponsorship opportunities also are available, ranging from $200 to $1,000. Play gets under way with a noon shotgun start; the dinner/silent auction begins at 5:30 p.m.

Individuals who would like to attend the dinner and silent auction only are invited to do so for a $50 donation.
