Rep. Haefner Honored by American Conservative Union
The Oakville legislator was awarded for her conservative voting record in the Missouri General Assembly.
State Rep. Marsha Haefner, R-Oakville, was named one of the recipients of the American Conservative Union’s 2012 ACU Conservative Award.
American Conservative Union (ACU) Executive Director Gregg Keller presented Haefner with the award during a reception at the Jefferson City Double Tree Hotel on Tuesday, Sept. 11. Rep. Haefner received the award based on her voting record of legislation that advances conservative principles.
"I am honored to be recognized for my conservative efforts in bringing Missouri to be a state of accountability both financially and ethically.”
This is the first year the ACU has rated the Missouri General Assembly. In 2011, the ACU expanded its annual ratings of Congress to include ratings of state legislators in Florida, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, and Virginia.
This year, the ACU further expanded its rating program to state legislators in 15 additional states. Though several members of the Missouri General Assembly scored 100 percent on the ACU’s rating system, the organization presented awards for scores of 80 percent or higher on its rating system.
Founded in 1964, the ACU is the oldest and largest grassroots conservative organization in the nation. ACU is a leading entity in providing conservative positions on issues to Congress, the Executive Branch, state legislatures, the media, political candidates and the public.
