Coeus: A Dog of Many Names
Coeus is a mighty Titan waiting for someone to cuddle with him.
Some of the Stray Rescue names are so silly! At first glance, this week’s “Pooch of the Week,” Coeus, sounds like a made up name. Upon further investigation, however, it appears that Coeus is one of the Titans from Greek mythology. Coeus is the giant son of Uranus (Heaven) and Gaia (Earth).
A young female Terrier mix named Gaia actually came to The Watering Bowl a few weeks ago as part of TWB’s program, Stray Rescue Tuesday, and was adopted soon after. Hopefully the same thing happens to Coeus. The folks at Stray Rescue must have known what they were doing when they named this boy. He was given this name because he is strong and able to handle anything that comes his way.
Coeus also answers to Chocolate, because he has the most beautiful brown coat. It feels like a pair of fleece pajamas. You just want to snuggle up with him and pet him all day long. Luckily, Coeus loves to cuddle! He also answers to the name Socks. Coeus is mostly brown except for one white leg. It looks like he is sporting one sock. Maybe he is starting a new doggy trend! Whatever name he goes by, one thing is for sure, this lovable lad is sure to make someone very happy very soon!
This 1 and a half-year-old Terrier mix gets along well with other dogs and people. He had a blast romping and running the day away at TWB with all of his new friends. He has learned a few basic commands, is house-trained, and crate-trained. He is all ready to start his new life in his new home! For more information on this cutie, visit Stray Rescue!
Also, don’t forget that The Watering Bowl is hosting “A Day for the Strays” next Monday, March 26th from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. This is an easy way to let your pooch let out some energy and for you to help the homeless and abused dogs of St. Louis. Remember that all dogs must do a “sniff around” and be current on Bordetella, DHLPP, and Rabies vaccinations prior to coming to play. Contact TWB for more information!
