Mehlville High School Football Coach Resigns

Eric Meyer will not be the head varsity football coach for Mehlville next year. Reasons for Meyer's resignation were not immediately clear.

Eric Meyer, the head coach for the varsity football team for Mehlville High School, resigned Friday.

The school district confirmed that the coach did not leave for personnel or disciplinary reasons. He was not asked to resign.

"He'll still be involved in our football program," said Bob Kern, athletics director.

Meyer, who has been coach for five years, has told the team he will not be the head varsity football coach next year.

A phone call to Meyer was not immediately returned.
