Mehlville Looks for Homecoming Win Against Parkway South

The Panthers will take on Parkway South tonight at 7 p.m.

The Mehlville Panthers (3-3) take on Parkway South (4-2) Friday in the annual homecoming game. The Panthers, who achieved the .500 mark last week at Marquette, will look again to their defense.

Mehlville has not allowed a team to score a touchdown since its matchup with Oakville Sept. 16. The team allowed two field goals against Fox and  shut out Marquette.

Patrick Partee and Dan Kerckhoff both have two interceptions for the team that hopes to continue the shut-out mentality.

QB Jeff White hopes to rely more on Dwayne Lewis, who has rushed 267 yards in 45 attempts.

Parkway South comes off a 55-7 win over Northwest last Friday after two losses to Eureka and Lindbergh.

Aside from the game, students from the high school will put on a parade for the community beginning at 5:30 p.m. The parade will begin at Margaret Buerkle Middle School and end at St. Matthias the Apostle Catholic Church. This year’s Homecoming candidates, former MHS Homecoming royalty, student organization floats, cheerleaders, Pantherettes and Majorettes can all be seen at the parade.
