One Taken to Hospital in Mehlville House Fire
The fire came from a home on the 2500 block of Rustic Drive.
The Mehlville Fire Protection District took delivery of their new rescue squad this week. The truck is expected to be in service in approximately three weeks.

One firefighter was taken to the hospital with second and third degree burns after a house fire in Mehlville. No other injuries were reported.
The Mehlville Fire Protection District answered a call at 1:30 p.m. Monday and was dispatched to the 2500 block of Rustic Drive.
The owner of the home had discarded ashes from a fire pit, said Assistant Chief Dan LaFata. The ashes caught on fire, consuming the owner's greenhouse and damaging the house's attic. The fire was put out before 3 p.m.
