Police: Four Shoplifters Arrested, $1K Recovered at South County Center

Police are also investigating another shoplifting from a store nearby on the same day.

Police arrested four people and recovered more than $1,000 in stolen items from South County Center late last month.

The four suspects—two black men and two black women—were arrested outside Dillard’s on Oct. 30 on suspicion of shoplifting and attempting to flee the scene, although they disabled their car in a sewer, St. Louis County Police said. The car was a maroon Pontiac Vibe with Illinois license plates.

Police handled another very similar incident that day.

Two black men stole jeans near The Buckle, a store at South County Center, met up with two black women and escaped in a blue Jeep with Missouri state license plates reading FA5K8Y on Oct. 30.

The plates were reported to be stolen from Ferguson.

Maryland Heights police are looking for a 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the same plates as part of a stealing investigation.
