A man accused of pointing a gun victim’s head and pulling the trigger faces criminal charges. The gun misfired and no one was injured in the May 28 robbery attempt at Mattress Giant, 6917 South Lindbergh Blvd.
Darrell Bolden Jr, 37, of the 10100 block of Douglas Court in St. Ann, was charged with first-degree attempted robbery, first-degree assault and two counts of armed criminal action.
St. Louis County police said Bolden was wearing a ski mask when he went into Mattress Giant and pointed a handgun at the head of an employee talking on the telephone and demanded he hang up the phone.
The employee hung up the phone and pushed the gun away from his head, according to the police report. The two struggled and Bolden forced the gun toward the victim’s head and pulled the trigger, but the gun misfired, according to police.
The defendant ran away, but the ski mask was pulled off his head. Police took DNA from the ski mask and matched it to Bolden, according to the report.
Bolden is being held in St. Louis County jail in lieu of a $150,000, cash-only bond.

What ever happened to attempted murder charges, and using a firearm while commiting a felony, If someone pointed a gun at a Police officer or Obama,Pulled the triger and their was a missfire, I wounder what they would be charged with? I guess he will get probation or very little time and get paroled before he does half the time. Only to get out and buy a gun that works for his next robbery, only to murder someone over a handfull of cash. my only sugestion is every body use credit cards, and every company that sells anything use a cash drop box like 7-11 uses, If there is no cash or very little in the till, robberys would be reduced. There should be more cops and suprise check points,to check for guns & Drunks and stop telling every body on the news the day or place they are going to be. Now that the news just blabbed about the day of the check points ,All the thugs will leave their Guns at home that day and drunks will stay off the big streets and traverse the side streets. I think it's time for everybody to wake up and smell the coffie
