Two St. Louis area Applebee’s locations are in the spotlight and lighting up social media after separate incidents involving customer messages on restaurant receipts being posted to social media site Reddit.
What do you think of Applebee's policy? Was Welch's punishment just? Should employees be allowed to share "good" comments, like the one posted to the South County restaurant's page?

She gets 18 % for serving rude customers like you Pastor.
God gets 10 % and your supposed to serve him.
That's the differance.

Server's should get 18 to 20 percent of your total check. Churches get 10 percent of your income. And no I do not think she should have gotten fired! Obviously that pastor has never worked in a restaurant in his entire life!

I saw a video clip of the pastor. SHE talked about living in a homeless shelter before morphing into a "woman of God." She is a hypocrit.
And I read Applebee's comment which said the server was fired due to Invading the pastor's privacy. No more Applebees for me -- of course, I never cared for them in the first place.

It depends on the service the Pastor received and that is something we don't know. By the way, the employee that was fired was NOT the server, just another employee who took it upon herself to make a statement to the world. She may have consoled her co-worker in another way. My daughters were all servers and did get stiffed at times. In retail and restaurants, the nice people make up for the others. BUT once again, the Pastor may have received less than kind service and that may have led to the 10 percent tip. Tips must be earned not just expected. That is entitlement but then again we do live in an entitlement 'society' don't we.
Applebees had every right to fire this employee for sticking her nose in someone else's business instead of staying out of it. Let the manager know next time but for everyone's sake don't slander a customer online!

There is no expectation of privacy when paying a restaurant check. Companies sell customer info all the time and it is perfectly legal. Every restaurant that I have eaten in has policies of adding a gratuity to parties over certain numbers of people. As one who normally tips 20% what was charged was reasonable. The lack of service , if there was one, should have been addressed with the manager at the time and not by leaving a rude insulting comment. Shame on the pastor . Her congregation should make her work for tips based on her performance .

sorry but I don't leave 18 -20 percent if I get bad service...my tips are based on the level of service and the minister was not paying for a large party ...you are wrong about the privacy...owners keep names and credit card information private to avoid identity theft...I have no idea where you go but I hope I'm not going there!

Applebee's has TERRIBLE food anyway, so it will be NO PROBLEM boycotting this tastless, gutless, corporate Zombie restaurant. As for that hypocritical minister, I started boycotting her morally bankrupt faith decades ago. As my dear Dad used to say; "Those strict church goers are the ones you CANNOT trust!"

A waitress works hard and if they give the customer good service they deserve a good tip, a major part of their income. The pastor should how ignorant customers can be and not the type of clergy I want to be associated with. Thank God not all customers are this rude. The employee had every right to post that receipt.
