St. Anthony’s Medical Center, 10010 Kennerly Rd, Saint Louis, MO | Get Directions »
FREE
St. Anthony’s Medical Center, in conjunction with the American Cancer Society, is offering a free program to help women undergoing cancer treatment learn to cope with the appearance-related side effects of treatment. These side effects, which often are emotionally and psychologically traumatizing, may include hair loss and changes in complexion and fingernails.
“Look Good . . . Feel Better” features a cosmetologist, who teaches the women how to enhance their appearance using make-up techniques and how to disguise hair loss using wigs, scarves and accessories. The goal is to help women undergoing cancer treatment to regain a sense of self-confidence and control over their lives. Each participant receives a free make-up kit.
“Look Good . . . Feel Better” is sponsored by the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association Foundation, in partnership with the American Cancer Society and the National Cosmetology Association.
The program will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon Monday, Nov. 12, in Suite 215A of
St. Anthony’s Medical Office Building, 10004 Kennerly Road, adjacent to the main hospital building. Registration is required. For more information or to register,
