When Chefs Compete…You Eat! Sponsored by Kenrick’s Meats & Catering, Feed My People will hold its inaugural National Hunger Awareness Day Chef Food Pantry Challenge on Thursday, June 5, 2014, 6 – 9 pm, at River City Casino & Hotel.
Executive Sous Chef Joe Suegrim from Orlando’s Banquets & Catering, Executive Chef John Johnson from River City Casino & Hotel, and Chef Andy White representing Schlafly Tap Room will compete for the first ever “Feed My People 2014 Chef of the Year Award”. Using only ingredients found in the Feed My People food pantries, the Chefs will demonstrate preparation of their entries in three categories: appetizer, entrée and dessert. Guests will savor the culinary fare from each chef while viewing technique and learning suggested wine and/or beer pairings for each category.
