When Chefs Compete…You Eat!  Sponsored by Kenrick’s Meats & Catering, Feed My People will hold its inaugural National Hunger Awareness Day Chef Food Pantry Challenge on Thursday, June 5, 2014, 6 – 9 pm, at River City Casino & Hotel.

Executive Sous Chef Joe Suegrim from Orlando’s Banquets & Catering, Executive Chef John Johnson from River City Casino & Hotel, and Chef Andy White representing Schlafly Tap Room will compete for the first ever “Feed My People 2014 Chef of the Year Award”.  Using only ingredients found in the Feed My People food pantries, the Chefs will demonstrate preparation of their entries in three categories: appetizer, entrée and dessert. Guests will savor the culinary fare from each chef while viewing technique and learning suggested wine and/or beer pairings for each category.   Distinguished judges for this event include: Cheryl Baehr, Food Writer & Restaurant Critic for Riverfront Times, Shawn Zell, Chef/Dietician for the St. Louis Rams, Trish Gazall, Fresh 102.5,

Sheila Sweeney, Chairperson, St. Louis County Port Authority, John & Carol DeGuire, Feed My People Co-Founders & Co-Executive Directors. “It’s a live reality show right here in St. Louis and a FUN opportunity to help Feed My People feed the hungry in our area”, commented Carol and John DeGuire.

Tables of up to ten people are available for $300.00 and individual tickets are $35.00 per person.  Please see www.feed-my-people.org for information and reservations, or call 314-631-4900.
