Get A Free Slurpee at 7-Eleven Thursday

In its birthday celebration, also known as 7-Eleven day, the convenience giant will give customers a free small Slurpee, including the Mehlville and Oakville locations.

People excited for the annual Free Slurpee Day Thursday at 7-Eleven have even more reason to be excited for this year.

On Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., customers can pick up a free 12-ounce small Slurpee at 7-Eleven stores in and near the Mehlville area. That deal includes one store located at 6197 Lemay Ferry Rd., and the 4328 Telegraph Rd., location in celebration of the convenience store’s birthday.

Laura Gordon, vice president of marketing and brand innovation, said in a company statement stores across the country will give away about 7 million Slurpees. You do the math. That is a face value of $7.6 million.

7-Eleven began offering free Slurpees on the July 11 of its 75th birthday in 2002, and it's become a big hit with customers.

7-Eleven first began in 1927 when a Southland Ice Company employee started selling bread, milk and eggs on a dock in a Dallas suburb. Today, the chain has 8,600 7-Eleven stores in North America and about 41,500 stores worldwide.
