Get Out: Jefferson Barracks Goes Back in Time

WWII weekend at Jefferson Barracks, the Mehlville Majorettes and Donation Day are all happening this weekend.

With the weather finally acting like spring, Mehlville is coming alive this weekend. Check out WWII weekend at Jefferson Barracks or support the Mehlville Majorettes in a talent competition. There's no shortage of activities this weekend!

WWII Weekend at Jefferson Barracks
When/Where:
Saturday: first battle and weapons demonstration: 10-10:30 a.m., second battle and weapons demonstration: 3-3:30 p.m., WWII Canteen Dance in Grant Shelter from 7-11 p.m.
Sunday: third battle and weapons demonstration: 12-12:30 p.m.
Why go: Choose from several events commemorating WWII. The 2nd Rangers Infantry Battalion will be performing war reenactments or dance the night away at the Canteen dance Saturday night. 
Cost: Reenactments are free and the canteen dance is $10

Mehlville Majorettes At Fox Teen Talent Search
When/Where: Saturday, April 16 at 10 a.m. at DeSmet High School (233 North New Ballas Road)
Why go: The Mehlville twirlers advanced from last week's competition in the Fox Teen Talent search and are going to the semifinals. Come cheer on the Majorettes!
Cost: Free 

Donation Day
When/Where: Saturday, April 16 from 9-6 p.m. at the St. John’s Building (3701 Will Avenue)
Why go: Goodwill and the Mehlville School Distict have paired up for Donation Day. After spring cleaning, take old clothes and furniture down to the St. John's Building to help Goodwill fund employment opportunities. 
Cost: Free

When/Where: Saturday, April 16 and Sunday, April 17 from 9-4 p.m. at the South County YMCA (12736 Southfork Road)
Why go: If it's lasted 28 years, you know it has to be fun. Take your family to see more than 150 food and craft vendors. 
Cost: Free


When/Where: Friday, April 15 from 7-9 p.m. at Cliff Cave Library (5430 Telegraph Road)
Why Go: Send your teen back to the dark ages for banana jousting—sure to be a fruitful battle. Registration required.
Cost: Free to teens 12-18
