Whether it is crafts, food or theatre that brings your family together, there is plenty going on this weekend to keep you busily bonding. Take your pick, or do it all. Better yet, let us know what else you and the crew are up to this week.

  • Family Fun Night at Whittle Shortline Railroad
    When/Where: 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. on Friday, March 11 at Whittle Shortline Railroad, 28 Front Street, Valley Park
    Why Go: The whole family gets to come out for train-themed activities and crafts, like face painting, train cookie decorating and paint workshops. There will also be a raffle and lots of discounts.
    Pricing: $4.50 for kids, free for adults
  • Fish Fry at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque
    When/Where: 4 - 7 p.m. on Friday, March 11 at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque School Cafeteria, 4900 Ringer Road
    Why Go: A fish fry is a Lenten tradition for Catholics, and still a delicious dinner for everyone else. Bring the whole family and enjoy the food and fellowship of the evening. Smaller portions and other food options are available for kids and picky eaters.
    Pricing: $6.25 to $8.75 for a meal, including fish or shrimp, a side, salad, drinks and dessert.

    When/Where: 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 12 at Michael's, 5796 S Lindbergh Blvd.
    Why Go: You and your craftily inclined youngsters can work together to learn how to make and decorate yarn dolls. Ages three and up.

  • presented by Shrewsbury Community Theatre
    When/Where: 7:30 p.m. March 10 - 13, and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 13 at Shrewsbury City Center, 5200 Shrewsbury Ave
    Why Go: Based on the book by E.B. White, Charlotte's Web is about an unlikely friendship between a pig and a spider. The play is filled with song and dance and performed by local kids and adults.

  • Spring Break Hit Camp at Balls-n-Strikes
    When/Where: 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. on March 15 and 16, at South County Balls-n-Strikes, 11133 Lindbergh Business Court
    Why Go: Get that kid ready for baseball season by brushing up on his or her hitting skills. The certified instructors of Balls-n-Strikes can help teach your little Pujols plenty of new drills and techniques, so they'll be hitting them out of the park before you know it. Recommended for ages 6 to 13.
