Video: Habitat For Humanity Moves Home
The home that has been under construction in the Faith Lutheran Church parking lot this summer was dismantled and moved to Crystal City.
A few years ago, Faith Lutheran Church had a dream that they would build a house for a family on their parking lot. Last September they shared the dream with Thrivent Builds, who connected the church to Habitat for Humanity in Jefferson County.
This summer, construction of a house began for a family of six who lives in Crystal City.
Faith Lutheran Church wanted to make it easy for their congregation to get involved and also wanted to invite the entire Oakville community to build with them, so while the basement and subfloor were being constructed in Crystal City, exterior and interior walls began to go up on the Faith Lutheran Church parking lot.

This past Saturday, the walls came back down to be transported to their final destination in Crystal City. Habitat for Humanity and its volunteers have an estimated 16 more Saturdays of construction in Crystal City, and then will have a home blessing and move in the family.
