View Finder: Day of Service Volunteers Sow Kindness

Members of Faith Lutheran Church spend the afternoon planting flowers to brighten up the Bethesda Southgate retirement residence.

Saturday, April 30, churches and community businesses across the greater St. Louis area united to make an impact on their neighborhoods through a project called Serve St. Louis.

Representing the Oakville area was , which also has locations serving communities in Columbia, Ill. and Edwardsville, Ill.

Many volunteers spent the day serving in larger events with Feed My People and Habitat for Humanity, but Faith Lutheran Church member Donna Moser wanted to do a project that hit closer to home. Moser invited volunteers out to Bethesda Southgate retirement residence, where she works part time as activities director, to impact the lives of the people she sees every day.
