Viewfinder: Adults Go Egg-Hunting

The annual adult egg hunt at Jefferson Barracks drew almost 700 people.

When a loud siren went off 600-700 people ran into the woods with flashlights in search of plastic eggs. No, they weren't small children, these people were adults searching for 7,500 eggs hidden throughout Jefferson Barracks Park.

Hosted by the Friends of Jefferson Barracks and St. Louis County Parks, the 13th annual Adult Egg Hunt brought hundreds of people last Friday and Saturday to hunt plastic eggs for prizes. Eggs were numbered and could be redeemed for prizes such as knick-knacks, Cardinals and Blues tickets and housewares. Six golden eggs were hidden throughout the park, each containing $50 or $100.

"We call it the full bunny," said Rich Hughes, the Master of Ceremonies for the event. "It's held rain or shine each year."
