Whiz Kid’s Accomplishment: Nominated as National Merit Finalist

Whiz Kid’s Key to Awesomeness: Michael Weaver, as he described with a level of eloquence and poise unmatched by most people his age, believes in putting forth the extra effort now in order to reap the benefits later in life. Although his week is filled with more than a fair share of homework and numerous extracurricular activities, including theatre and bowling, Weaver was able to attain the recognition of National Merit Finalist. As a result of this nomination, he has been approached with several full ride scholarships and the offers continue to arrive.

“My parents did a very good job of pushing me to do all I can achieve,” Weaver said. “It’s definitely important to take your high school career serious from the beginning. It’s not exciting now, but it will pay off.”

So what’s next for this busy student? Weaver hopes to study pre-med at a four-year university and then pursue his doctorate.
