Whiz Kid’s Accomplishment: President of TREND (Turning Resources & Energy in New Directions), which serves at community events and teaches drug and alcohol avoidance.

Whiz Kid’s Key to Awesomeness: Victoria Allen dedicates a large portion of her spare time to encourage her peers to say “No” to drugs and alcohol during her service with TREND. As stated on Oakville High School's website, TREND is “a nationwide program offering opportunities to develop a healthy, substance-free lifestyle.” Allen has been a member of TREND all four years of high school. She joined the organization after her sister, an Oakville alum, recommended it. “I love working in the community and meeting new people,” Allen said of her service.

For her senior year, Allen was nominated to be president by her teachers. Now she helps organize drug-free events, works with the club sponsor and boosters. Allen expects to continue her volunteer work after graduation.

“We can all have fun without drugs and alcohol. TREND gives me a way to tell my friends how to do that,” Allen said.
