Love, Lift Us Up - Benefit for Tornado Victims

On Saturday, October 22 at 2 pm and 7:30 pm and on Sunday, October 23 at 2 pm, ARTS FOR LIFE will present an original musical revue, Love, Life Us Up, at Bayless High School, 4530 Weber Road, 63123.  All proceeds from this show will be distributed to the people of Joplin and North St. Louis who suffered the tornados earlier this year.  Some of these victims lost everything they had, including loved ones.  Unfortunately, some of those who were most affected by the disaster are the least to receive relief.  They have fallen through the cracks in the system.  Without their name on a residence, they receive no money from FEMA and many of the major charities.  With the recent devastating hurricane on the East coast, FEMA is retracting money originally slated for Joplin relief.  Our benefit musical revue will raise money to correct this oversight, it will buy coats and shoes to prepare for winter, it will revive Hope.  Proceeds will be distributed through Catholic Charities and charities working directly with victims.

Love, Lift Us Up is an inspiring show set to music.  It tells the true stories of the people who experienced one of the worst natural disasters in decades. Over 100 performers from the entire Metro St. Louis area are involved with this production. Broadway veteran Tony Parise, a St. Louis native, will be the choreographer for the benefit. His Broadway credits include “42nd Street,” “Me and My Girl,” “City of Angels” and the national tour of “A Chorus Line.”

Tickets for Love, Lift Us Up, an original musical revue, are $20 each and can be purchased from http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/195125. T-Shirts to commemorate the event are also available. Wearing a T-Shirt to the show qualifies the wearer for the door prize drawings at each show.  The door prizes are tickets to the Muny or Stages St. Louis, our strongest supporters. All proceeds from ticket and T-Shirt sales will go directly to the tornado victims through Catholic Charities and other relief organizations.
