Route 66 Classic Car Cruise to Benefit the Children’s Tumor Foundation

The Route 66 Classic Car Cruise committee recently announced it will be hosting their third annual event on Saturday, August 11, 2012, to benefit the Children’s Tumor Foundation. The Foundation is dedicated to finding effective treatments and cures for neurofibromatosis (NF), a genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow on the nerves in the body. Admission to the event is free, though donations will be accepted for the Children’s Tumor Foundation. All proceeds from the event will support the Foundation’s medical research, patient support, and education programs.

The Missouri Chapter of the Children’s Tumor Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is dedicated to improving the health and well being of millions living with neurofibromatosis.  NF affects one in every 3,000 people, more than cystic fibrosis, Duchenne muscular dystrophy and Huntington’s disease combined.  It can lead to blindness, deafness, chronic pain, disfigurement, learning disabilities, bone defects, cardiovascular problems, cancer and a wide range of other complications.

The all-day event is free to the public and will include vintage automobiles on display, fun games for the entire family and musical entertainment.  It will be held, rain or shine, beginning with a vehicle parade at 10:00 a.m., which will begin at Sunset Ford in Crestwood Court at 109 Crestwood Plaza, in Crestwood, MO.  To register for the parade, please call 314-729-4837.  The location of the car show and concert will be Sunset Ford, at 11700 Gravois Road in Sunset Hills, MO, and will feature:

  • Registration from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Sunset Ford
