Chamber Welcomes New Kids' Resale Business

The South County Chamber of Commerce welcomed Connie Satchell and Carousel Kids to the area in a ribbon-cutting Thursday.

The business opened on her birthday, Connie Satchell said. Satchell, the owner of new business Carousel Kids on Reavis Barracks, said it was a fantastic birthday present.

Satchell has been working to open the business since April 2010, and envisioned a place that would buy children's clothes and toys from people at a good price, and then sell them for an even better price.

"Often people come in and look at the prices and say, 'Are you kidding me?'" she said. "Items have been out the door before they come in."

Satchell, who has 20 years of experience in the retail business, said the store is right up her alley.

The Chamber of Commerce welcomed the new member to the Mehlville community Thursday morning in a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Carousel Kids buys and sells new and gently used kids toys and clothes at the former location of Prime Time Child Care Academy. Her husband, Bob, now runs the daycare at its new location on Lemay Ferry Road, while Satchell runs Carousel Kids.

"We want to continue growing, and expand the store in the future," she said. "We plan to be here for a long time."
