The hometown bar celebrates its one-year anniversary with a ribbon cutting and a week of fun activities.

The one-year anniversary of  in Oakville is definitely an all-star week of events. Coinciding with the Major League Baseball All-Star game, the hometown bar's celebration continued with Wednesday's ribbon cutting ceremony, raffles and free food and drinks.

Roger Lesch is one of five owners of Sports Pub, and in bar-owner form, his job during last night's party was to ice down the beer. 

"We decided that Oakville needed a premier sports bar with cold beer, good food and a family friendly atmosphere," Lesch said.

Sports Pub boasts 14 50-inch and one 120-inch televisions in which to watch your favorite game, a party room, outside seating, and WI-FI also is available. Throughout the week the bar will be having a number of specials and activities. 

Starting at 5 p.m. Thursday, patrons will receive a free Bud Light glass with purchase of a Bud Light pitcher (while supplies last) and it is steak dinner night. Friday from 4-7 p.m. come see the Monster Jeep complete with $3 Monster Bombs all day. Live music by Jake Shafer rounds out the night.

Saturday is family day. Bring the kids to see the St. Louis County Police helicopter noon-2 p.m. and then get fingerprints for your child at the ID booth from 1-4 p.m. The Landshark car will be on display starting at 4 pm., and there will be a Jimmy Buffet tribute band and drink specials throughout the night.  

"We love our neighbors and hope to be friendly competition," Lesch said. "Hopefully our neighbors love us."
