Church's Chicken, Rockin' Gator's Require Follow-up Inspections

See how your favorite restaurants fared on St. Louis County Department of Health inspections.

Patch examined inspection reports in Mehlville, Oakville and Affton in July and August. Information has been compiled using publicly available data published to the website of the St. Louis County Health Department

Restaurants are rated on a scale of A to C, with A being the best. Inspectors also give a score indicating the percentage of compliance with inspection standards. 

The health department inspects restaurants on a routine basis unless otherwise noted.

Comments: A follow-up is necessary because there was no sanitation certificate on site and the facility was not able to provide Hepatitis A vaccination documentation for all employees.

Comments: This visit was a follow-up from a July 20 inspection where the Hepatitis A documentation was incomplete and there was debris in containers.

Comments: A follow-up inspection is needed. There were no paper towels and the backdoor had a two-inch gap letting light through the doorway. There were cases of cups open on the floor and the wood floor in the walk-in cooler does not meet code. The upright freezer is also not working.

Comments: This visit was the result of a follow-up when the restaurant did not have Hepatitis A vaccination for all employees. The inspector also found bugs. An exterminator was called and the problem was fixed.

Comments: The inspector found several sinks and drain boards with the caulk seal broken from the wall. The backdoor area was also piled high with boxes.

Comments: The inspector found blackened cutting boards by the pizza oven. The area may be bold-like growth and the cutting boards need to be replaced. The inspector also found several torn refrigeration door gaskets and build-up of food under mats.
