Hospital Hosts Camp for Teens Coping with Loss

The free, four-day camp helped local teenagers who lost someone close to them.

Teenagers who lost a loved one this year participated in a camp organized by  Hospice. The 17 youths shared stories and discussed what comes next at the free, four-day Safe Space Camp.

Using art and music therapy, team building and support groups, the teens honored their losses by helping each other. Former St. Louis Cardinals baseball player Andy Van Slyke and Fredbird were guests at the camp, held at the South Side Church of God, 12145 Tesson Ferry Road.
