Joey B's Fans Rejoice With New Concord Plaza Location

Joey B's new Concord Plaza location is the third to open since the brand was established less than seven years ago by the Gianino family restaurant group.

Opening day business was brisk for Joey B’s Food & Drink, the much-anticipated addition to the South County restaurant mix.

“This is the third installment of the Joey B’s brand in just under seven years,” said South County native Joey Barczewski, saying he began his restaurant career 16 years earlier busing tables for his business partner’s father, Bill Gianino. “We’re excited to be opening here in Concord Plaza. I think the area is a nice fit for what we have to offer.”

Joey B’s opened Wednesday and offers a solid menu with enough diversity to appeal to most anyone. Headlineing the list of customer favorites are the pizzas, which were featured on the Food Network’s Tasty Travels with Rachel Ray. The burgers  have won kudos as well—voted Best Burger by St. Louis Magazine. The house specialty is the Cowboy Burger, 10 ounces of beef topped with bacon, deep fried onions, soft cheddar and barbecue sauce.

The opening menu features 17 appetizer options with the expected wings, potato skins and toasted ravs along with the unexpected Shrimp Diablo, Pretzel Bites and the Smoked Pork Nachos. Joey's "Greens With Stuff" redefines eating green with its own versions the Chef Salad, Caesar, and chef's choice—Bleu Cheese & Buffalo Chicken Salad.  Listed under "Layers of Greatness" are sandwiches that run from the hot Cardinal Chicken (charbroiled chicken drenched in hot wing sauce and topped with provel cheese) to the cold classic Triple Decker club, stacked and stuffed with turkey, bacon, ham, cheese, lettuce and tomato.

Pastas and entrees are based on recipes that reflect the 35-year tradition of Bill Gianino’s family restaurants. Among those classic recipes are the Chicken Speidini, Steak Modiga and the Ravioli Prosciutto, a signature dish that enrobes beef-stuffed ravioli in a cream sauce laced with prosciutto, fresh broccoli and mushrooms.
