Photos: Chefs Prepare Feast for Community Gardeners

Chefs from River City and Lumiere Place casinos volunteered and prepared a meal for Gateway Greening's Bell Demonstration Garden.

Saturday, chefs from River City and Lumiere Place casinos traded a kitchen of stainless steel for the outdoors when they prepared a meal at a community garden for volunteers.

The chefs prepared a “Low Country Boil,” which is a large seafood stew, at the Bell Demonstration Garden.

The garden is a community space that hosts educational workshops on gardening since 2001. Comprised of 22 vacant lots in St. Louis, the garden promotes urban food growth.
