Rockin' Gators, Phil's BBQ Inspected

Patch examined inspection reports in Affton, Mehlville and Oakville from June 22 to July 2. Information has been compiled using publicly available data published to the website of the St. Louis County Health Department. 

Restaurants are rated on a scale of A to C, with A being the best. Inspectors also give a score indicating the percentage of compliance with inspection standards.

Comments: There was debris accumulation on floors especially under the equipment in both walk-in refrigerators. The store room also needs to be cleaned on a routine basis. The light intensity in the walk-in is inadequate.

Comments: The back door was wide open with no screen door. The upright freezer was not working and was rusty and the establishment needs to replace the floor cover in the walk-in cooler.

Comments: The inspector found that the refrigeration unit was still not the proper temperature, must be below 41 degrees. A follow-up inspection is necessary.

Comments: This visit was the result of a follow-up from June 12 where no one in charge had valid food protection certification, there was no soap at the sink, no date-marking system and not all employees had Hepatitis A vaccination records. Also, the inspector found mold-like substance and dried liquid in the two-door refrigeration unit.  All items were corrected.

Comments: The department found the kitchen was operating without a permit. The April bar opening inspection states that there was no kitchen or food to be served until inspected. The kitchen was told to stop making pizzas and burgers until this inspection.
