See how your favorite restaurants fared on St. Louis County Department of Health inspections.

Patch examined inspection reports in Mehlville, Oakville and Affton in July. Information has been compiled using publicly available data published to the website of the St. Louis County Health Department

Restaurants are rated on a scale of A to C, with A being the best. Inspectors also give a score indicating the percentage of compliance with inspection standards. 

The health department inspects restaurants on a routine basis unless otherwise noted.

Comments: No customer advisory system was in place and the wall of the walk-in cooler was flaking paint. A follow-up inspection is needed.

Comments: Food needs to be at least 6 inches off the floor to prevent cross contamination and allow cleaning. The refrigerator door gaskets had food debris and the flooring in the walk-in cooler had grease-like build-up.

Comments: Non-food contact surfaces are not the right material and the freezer has dents and cracks in it. The facility is not clean enough to prevent dirt and residue build-up and the grill vents have an accumulation of grease build-up.

Comments: Hepatitis A vaccination documents are not maintained in a clear and concise manner.  Light bulbs also need to be shatterproof or shielded.

Comments: There’s a missing thermometer in the small freezer and the wiping cloth on the counter needs to be stored in sanitizer. There was debris accumulation on the inside of the ice machine and on the ceiling vents.

Comments: The inspector found a half-used case of food opened and uncovered and several torn refrigerator gaskets. The floor under the filing cabinets had debris and all cleaning supplies must be stored 6 inches off the ground.
