Two Businesses Proposed for Space Between Mehlville High School and Urgent Care

See which businesses could be moving into the abandon property.

An old house might be converted into businesses at the space between and .

The 2-acre lot would hold two companies: Kyle’s Landscaping and ServPro of Oakville and Mehlville. ServePro restores homes and businesses from floods and fires.

The two business owners—Kyle Lang and Kevin Thole—submitted a request to change the zoning of the land from a residential to a planned commercial district. At a public hearing on Monday, five people symbolically voted in favor of the business and zero voted against.

The St. Louis County Planning Commission will vote to approve or deny the request at a meeting Sept. 10.

Lang and Thole, who both live in the area, bought the land from an auction. A dilapidated house stands at the space now and the two proposed converting the house into an office and adding a garage facility.

The garage would hold a maximum of 14 cars. The lot would also have a house for plants and five storage bins on the back of the lot. The bins will be disguised to look like a retaining wall.

Their businesses are currently located at 2845 Telegraph Road in Mehlville. Thole said the space was too small for all the employees and wanted to store trucks in a garage instead of outside.

Houses in the Madonna Hills subdivision line the back end of the property, where Lang and Thole said they’d plant a line of evergreen trees and flowers.
