St. Anthony's Announces New President of Medical, Dental, and Podiatric Staff

Joseph M. Forand, M.D. has been elected president of the Medical, Dental, and Podiatric staff of St. Anthony’s Medical Center.  The two-year term began July 1st and includes a position on the hospital’s Board of Directors.

 Dr. Forand, a board-certified anesthesiologist, joined St. Anthony’s medical staff in 1988 as a member of the hospital’s newly established heart surgery program.  Throughout his time at St. Anthony’s, he has held various positions, including Department Director of Anesthesiology, President of the Missouri Society of Anesthesiologists, Board Member at the Missouri State Board of Health, and Vice-Chairman of the St. Anthony’s Charitable Foundation.

A graduate of Cranbrook School and Hamilton College, he obtained his medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine, where is also completed his internship and residency.   Prior to joining St. Anthony’s, Dr. Forand served as an attending anesthesiologist at The Jewish Hospital of St. Louis (now part of Barnes Jewish Hospital) and as instructor at the Washington University School of Medicine.  Currently, Dr. Forand is a member of numerous professional, civic and charitable organizations, including the Missouri State Medical Association, the St. Anthony’s Charitable Foundation and their Physician Ambassadors Committee.
