I captured these newborn birdies in their nest at the top of the pavilion roof at Twin Oaks Park on Sunday afternoon, just after their nap. It was feeding time to say the least. Momma bird was a bit leery with us around, so she would come in for a quick feeding and then fly away, watching us until she felt safe to come back to the nest. Then Daddy showed up and was being a noisy, but protective father.
There were three new baby birds that we could see, but only get two of them in the photo.
Can you imagine the bird in the back saying, "How come he gets to eat first mom?"
