Attention All Golfers!
Welcome to Spring! The beginning of the golf season is here. It's time to dust off those clubs, stretch those muscles, and head on down to the local range to find your swing.
My name is Dean Frankiewicz, and I am the Teaching Professional at the First Tee Driving Range in Oakville. I played my junior golf in Michigan, college golf at the University of Kansas, and professionally here in St. Louis since 1983. I have been playing and teaching for more than 35 years.
Golf, I think, is the greatest game ever played but is also the hardest game to learn. In other sports, you’re reacting to the other players or the ball. In golf, the ball doesn't move and there is no other player. Your reaction is to the shot at hand, which needs to be controlled by you and nobody else.
Golf will provide a challenge your whole life. Every day is different, every course is different, every hole is different, every shot is different, and every score is different. Embrace that challenge this spring and you will experience a game that will reward you the rest of your life!
