Breaking: Emergency Rush Hour Work on JB Bridge

Motorists on I-255 are urged to find an alternative route home today.

One lane of westbound I-255 on the Jefferson Barracks bridge is being closed Thursday afternoon for urgent repairs, Fox2 reports.

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) says that construction crews are repairing an expansion joint, according to the report. The work is being done to improve safety and prevent further damage.

Roadwork will last through rush-hour until midnight.

Find an alternative route to avoid delays. MoDOT predicts all lanes will be open for the Friday morning rush.
