Catch this week's news right here.

Good morning, Mehlville and Oakville!

  • Weather: To contrast last week's heat and sun, the National Weather Service is calling for rain and an overcast sky this week. Today, we have a 50 percent chance of storms with a high near 89. Tuesday and Wednesday are supposed to be partly sunny, with temperatures in the 80s. Thunderstorms return for Thursday and Friday.

  • Traffic: Today, MoDOT is closing one southbound lane on I-270 from Highway 44 to Gravois Road. Watch out for congestion, especially around rush hour.

  • This week, we'll have the story of a Mehlville High School graduate now riding across the country on a bike. We'll also look at the story behind a new traffic light on Telegraph Road and learn about some new businesses coming to town.
  • Do you have any back to school tips? We'd love to hear them! Email them to sarah.flagg@patch.com and we'll post them before the big day back (Aug. 17)!
