• Weather: The heat continues as today's high will reach 100 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. The heat index will climb to 111 and there is an excessive heat warning for the area until this evening. Saturday is supposed to reach only 98 degrees and Sunday brings a chance of thunderstorms. 

• Gas: Gas skyrocketed from $3.47 to $3.59 today with Sam's Club having the lowest prices. Phillips 66 and Quick Trip on Tesson Ferry are the second lowest at $3.68, according to stlouisgasprices.com.
