Good Morning Mehlville: Free Chick-Fil-A at South County Goodwill

Good morning, Mehlville!

• Weather: Well you can probably still fry an egg on the sidewalk, but at least it will take more than 30 seconds. There's a 50 percent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms today, with a high around 90 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. 
  
  

• Gas: Sam's Club is still the lowest at $3.50, but the Union and Greenpark Phillips 66 is just one cent higher. The highest prices in the area are both on Tesson Ferry Road, at the Quick Trip and Phillips 66 ($3.57), according to stlouisgasprices.com.
  
  
• On your evening commute: MoDOT is warning drivers of delays going south on Interstate 270 at 44. The delays are a result of bridge work that has caused the four lanes to narrow and shift. Officials estimate the average delay of drivers going west on 44 to south 270 is 15 minutes, compared to the average of 3-4 minutes. 

MoDOT is recommending travelers exit on Lindbergh Boulevard rather than use 270. 

• Today, stop by the South County MERS/Goodwill (10570 Baptist Church Road) from 12-1 p.m. today get a free Chick-Fil-A chicken sandwich and prizes when you donate items. ESPN radio will also be there for the festivities. The fast food chain and Goodwill is pairing up for a month starting today and anyone who brings a donation to any metro Goodwill on a Tuesday or Wednesday in July will receive a coupon for a free Chick-Fil-A chicken sandwich. There are six Chick-Fil-A locations in St. Louis: Mid-Rivers, Des Peres, Chesterfield, Arnold, St. Clair Square and West County Center.
