Good morning, Mehlville!

Welcome to our new column that will help you get through the weekday. Every Monday through Friday at 6 a.m., we'll tell you everything ranging from gas prices and traffic alerts to events around town and stories we're working on. Lastly, we'll sign off with something fun to kick-start your morning.

  • Weather: More thunderstorms are on the way with a chance of large hail and strong winds, The Weather Channel said. A 50 percent chance of rain and a high of 85 degrees is in the forecast. 
  • Gas: Phillips 66 at Union and Green Park is the lowest at $3.39 a gallon. The Lindbergh and Union Phillips 66 and Sam's Club are at $3.41 while the Tesson Ferry Quik Trip is at $3.49, according to stlouisgasprices.com
  • Today, Patch will be at Bartolino's ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. so look for photos later today along with our Pooch of the Week. I'll be off to Bread Company for some editing before the Johnny Mac's baseball game at Mehlville High School. Sports writer will be at the 5:45 p.m. game weather-permitting. 
  • The International Plastic Modelers' Society meets tonight at  (3400 Lemay Ferry Road) from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. The scale modeling club shares tips and techniques and is open to anyone.
