Mehlville and Oakville Patch Merging into One Website

For months, many of you have asked why Oakville and Mehlville Patch are two separate Patch sites. They share the same school district, fire district and police precinct. They are both unincorporated areas and have no defined boundaries except rivers and interstates. 

We hear you, Mehlville and Oakville residents.

So Aug. 3, we'll introduce the new Mehlville-Oakville Patch, a website that will cover both areas as one. You’ll have one place to go for the crime report, school and fire district news, local business information and features about members of the community.  

We’re all about making things easier for our readers and think this will make us a better news source and with better conversation in the area.

We’ll cover both Mehlville and Oakville High School sports and activities and continue our standing columns. Here are some more details:

Logistics:

- The URL will stay the same, and oakville.patch.com will lead to mehlville.patch.com.

- Our Facebook Page, Mehlville Patch, will stay the same, but the name will be changed to Mehlville-Oakville Patch. If you ‘Like’ the Oakville Page and not Mehlville, head on over and click that button!

- Our Twitter will change to @MehlOakPatch on Aug. 3.

- I will take over the new Mehlville-Oakville Patch, and current Oakville editor Alyssa Stahr will move to Sunset Hills-Crestwood Patch.

How you can help:

- Tell your friends. Let them know about the change and tell them to log on.

- Tell me what’s going on- My phone (314-258-1131) is always on and my email (sarah.flagg@patch.com) is always open. Or, let’s meet for coffee or a smoothie- my treat. I’d love to discuss the issues in Oakville. What are your favorite things about the area?
