Patch Editors Volunteer at St. Louis Crisis Nursery

Find out how you can help the nursery, or send your own ideas of places for Patchers to volunteer.

Patch editors in the St. Louis area cleaned, organized, sorted, wiped, hugged and played at the St. Charles location for the St. Louis Crisis Nursery.

The Crisis Nursery's mission is to prevent child abuse by providing temporary housing and care for young children in order to give their parents and caretakers the space and time needed to resolve crisis.

Patch editors organized and sanitized toys, cleaned high chairs and walls, put away summer clothes, put babies to sleep and played with the little ones.

We volunteer as part of our coverage with a program called "Give 5," through which we donate advertising space to charitable organizations and contribute our own time as volunteers.

If you'd like to do work like this at the Crisis Nursery, call 314-768-3201 or email sara@crisisnurserykids.org.

If you know a group or cause that could use our help, email give5@patch.com.

To see more Patchers engaged in Give 5 volunteer days, check out our stories about pulling weeds and hauling mulch at Cardinal Ritter Senior Services in Shrewsbury or running a concession stand at Busch Stadium to raise money for Haven House.
