WWII Weekend: Soldiers and Swing Dancing
The Friends of Jefferson Barracks hosted a canteen dance at Grant Shelter as part of WWII Weekend.
The Friends of Jefferson Barracks hosted the annual Canteen Dance of WWII Weekend Saturday night at Grant Shelter.
Decorated men in military uniforms danced with women in tights and polka dots to classic 1940s hits. Beer and soda was served in between dances and couples competed in a Jitterbug contest.
Both young and old attended the dance and clothes ranged from the 1940s to the 2000s.

"We always have so much fun," Monica Schwartz said. "We've been coming for some 10 years."
