WWII Weekend: The Battle

Faux gunfire broke out at Jefferson Barracks as the 2nd Ranger Infantry Battalion hosted the 32nd annual World War II Weekend.

Tanks rolled into Jefferson Barracks Saturday morning for the 32nd annual World War II Weekend, hosted by St. Louis County Parks, the 2nd Ranger Infantry Battalion and the Friends of Jefferson Barracks. 

As re-enactors depicting U.S., German and Russian soldiers set up tents and prepared their weapons, crowds gathered at the field to watch the battles. Three battles occured Saturday and Sunday with a . 

Veterans from The Battle of the Bulge and Iwo Jima joined the crowd as spectators wandered through the re-enactors' campsites.
