The People's Blog: An Introduction

Introducing a blog with the goal of highlighting the greatness of folks in the Mehlville area!

When Patch decided they wanted to add bloggers, I figured I was a natural. I'm very opinionated, I like to think I'm more important than I am, and I know I'm right. Then I started to plan what I wanted this blog to look like, and somehow that didn't matter.  I'm still opinionated, but I don't really think most people care what I think, and despite what my wife and kids will tell you, I'm really not perfect or right all the time.

Though I do vote in local elections, I'm not an insider on the Mehlville political scene. I also love national politics, sports of all kinds, music, movies, religion discussions, eating out, and finding all the fun family spots in town for fun times with the most important people in my life. I don't think I'm smarter than everyone else out there. I won't blast anyone for their beliefs, though I might take issue with the belief.  I do my best to treat people with respect.

At that point, I figured out what I wanted to do. I'm in sales, and to succeed there, it's all about relationships.  People, that's what matters. It's the same in life. In Mehlville, there are some great people doing great things that I'm privileged to know, and many more that I don't know.  These people deserve to have a few minutes to have their stories put out there publically, and that's what the majority of this blog will be about.  I'm sure I'll deviate from time to time to indulge my own eccentricities, but this will primarily be a blog about the people of Mehlville.

Unfortunately for me, I don't know enough people to keep this blog going with that focus for months and months without some help.  So, if you know someone who you'd like to highlight, please let me know and give me a way to contact them.  Maybe it's someone running a business, maybe it's someone who is fighting adversity, maybe it's someone sacrificing of themselves for others, maybe it's you and you want to get your story out there, and maybe it's your kids or your parents and they just rock.  If I don't hear from you, then you get to read my ramblings. I'm happy to do that if I have to, but I'd rather not.  That's the beauty of this blog; I can do almost whatever I want, so please feel free to contact me (see my ) with someone who deserves a few seconds in the Patch spotlight.
