Romney's Tax Returns Are One Thing, But His Secret Bank Accounts May Be Far More Nefarious

With hidden bank accounts, how much would it take to buy Romney's power as President of the most power country in the world?

Mitt Romney has released as many returns as he is legally required to release.  No more, no less; but, the question remains, what is he hiding?  I'm not the only person to wonder what he's hiding.  As a matter of fact, his father, George, may have wondered the same thing.

He had two fascinating things to say on the subject, "Release of the document, while it might serve a political purpose, would not prove very much, he argued. One year could be a fluke, perhaps done for show, and what mattered in personal finance was how a man conducted himself over the long haul."

So, what did he do?  He released 12 years of his tax returns, which also happens to be the same amount of tax returns President Obama has released.  What did Romney say about it then?  "Any politician who will not show multiple year taxes may be hiding something."

Conservative media pundit, George Will (as well as many other conservatives) apparently agrees, “The cost of not releasing the returns are clear. Therefore, he must have calculated that there are higher costs in releasing them.”

All of this is true.  What is he hiding?  That's a good question, but that is not even my biggest question or concern.  For instance, what if it is true that he did not participate in the pardon for Swiss Bank accounts in 2009?  What if he still has a secret bank account in Switzerland or bank accounts around the world?

Besides the felonies, it leaves open another, far more nefarious possibility, his ability to be bought and hide the money.

If he is not trustworthy enough to show his tax returns, how can we trust him to make decisions in the best interest of the citizens of our country?

To be clear, what if the Saudi Prince happened to deposit a half billion dollars in a Swiss bank account owned by Mitt and/or Ann Romney?  Just think of the possibilities and obligations Romney would then owe to his benefactor.

So, the problem of his tax returns isn't just about what he is hiding by not releasing them, but how much would it take to buy Romney's power as President of the most power country in the world?
