Located inside Jefferson Barracks Park at 305 Greg Rd., this $12 million project will be a great asset to Lemay, JB Park, and all of South County.

The aquatic center is set to open in Summer 2014, followed by the opening of the community center in Fall 2014.

In 2006, County Executive Charlie Dooley named a Development Assistance Committee tasked with gathering public input for the community center.  Made up of community leaders from Lemay and County staff, the committee engaged residents to determine the center’s location, its programs and it amenities.  This committee engaged the residents through mail surveys and public meetings to determine the priority programs that make up the facility today.  County leaders then worked to identify the appropriate funding sources to make the community’s vision become reality.  In May 2012, St. Louis County Port Authority and St. Louis County Parks unveiled the preliminary design and programming for the new center.

There is a lot of excitement for the Lemay Community and Aquatic Center.  Its opening will conclude thousands of hours of community participation, discussions and a commitment to a better neighborhood.  The center will be a place where families and friends can play, relax and get together.
