2012 Mehlville High Grad Awarded Joe Pollack Scholarship

Mehlville High School graduate Tabitha Williams is a first generation college student. She is a St. Louis University (SLU) student and has accomplished another first.

Not only is she is the first person in her family to attend college, according to the St. Louis Post Dispatch, she is also the first recipient of the Joe Pollack Scholarship.

The scholarship is a $4,000 award the St. Louis Media History Foundation established to honor the former Post-Dispatch writer, critic and radio commentator Joe Pollack. Pollack died in 2012 at 81.

Williams graduated in 2012 and is in a five-year program in occupational therapy at SLU.
