Wohlwend Elementary Family Needs $4,000 to Bury Relative Killed in Oklahoma Tornado

The fundraising information was published in Wohlwend Elementary's Facebook page. The man's family is using the Go Fund Me website to help with donations.

The Wohlwend Wildcat PAWS Facebook page recently announced an effort to help a student who lost a relative in the recent Oklahoma tornadoes on June 1.

"Recently we have found out that one of our students has lost a family member due to the tornadoes in Oklahoma," the Facebook page reads. "His family is trying to collect money for a burial service.

"If you are willing to donate please go to the following website http://gofundme.com/30tnwg and follow the directions."

The organization said it made a donation, along with many Wohlwend staff and Wohlwend families.

Wildcat PAWS is a volunteer group at Wohlwend Elementary. PAWS raises funds to support the school and to bring family fun activities to students and staff.

Karen Hodgson Holloway is an in-law to the man that died in the Tornado.

"Our prayers go out to a my brother-in-law...," she said. "(He is) a good man who we cared and loved."

Holloway said her brother-in-law, Leslie Johnson, 46, was a good father, uncle, friend and son, and went missing after the Oklahoma tornado.

"(He) was found under debris, lifeless, badly injured," she said. "They were only able to identify him through fingerprints."

Holloway said her family set up the Go Fund Me account with hope to provide children with support related to the funeral.

"It was a privilege to have him on this earth and in our lives," she said. "He will be missed."
