Balloons, Yo-Yos and Jokes Add Up To Serious Fun

Silly Meets Serious as The NED Show comes to Wohlwend Elementary School

Judging by the laughter coming from the Wohlwend Elementary School gym, you'd think that hundreds of kids were spending an hour playing instead of learning.  You'd be half right.  They were playing -and- learning.

Wohlwend brought The NED Show in for the afternoon on Tuesday, August 28th, as part of the Mehlville district's ongoing character development program.  The NED Show is an international program that promotes positive attitudes, better behavior and academic achievement in school.

NED stands for Never give up, Encourage others, and Do your best.  The 45 minute program uses humor as its delivery system--balloon animals, yo-yo tricks and age appropriate jokes--all designed to get and hold a child's attention.  Embedded in the humor are important messages about self esteem, self respect and a desire to be a better person.
