Colonel Potter: An All-Around Awesome Pooch

This adorable pup could belong to your family!

Apparently I need to watch more TV. I actually had to Google this week's Pooch of the Week namesake, Colonel Potter. Yes, I have heard of the TV show MASH, I don't live under that big of a rock, I just didn't know any of the characters. Unlike the owner of TWB, however, I knew Colonel Potter was not from the game Clue! Come on, I always guess Colonel Mustard in the library with a candlestick!

Colonel Potter was named after the iconic star because he was found on the day the actor who played Colonel Potter, Harry Morgan, died. Stray Rescue staff and volunteers have shared that he seems to emulate characteristics of his namesake. He's short, has a wry smile and looks like he has total control of any situation.

Colonel Potter is also a pup with manners. At the shelter, he is very calm when visitors walk by his apartment or stop to talk to him. Instead of jumping up and down like a hyper, out-of-control pooch, he sits and happily wags his tail. Colonel Potter is always on his best behavior, but when it's time to cut loose, he is ready to go!

Colonel Potter wasn't one bit shy when he arrived at . He quickly found one of the most rambunctious dogs in the place, Sammi, a 1-year-old Weimaraner, and rastled with her all day long. He was in heaven, and completely tuckered out by the end of the day! The Watering Bowl staff thoroughly enjoyed having Colonel Potter join them for a day of fun!

This 1-year-old Beagle mix is an all-around great dog. He listens, behaves and absolutely loves to have a good time. He would do great in any kind of family, as long as he is given lots of loving, which won't be difficult, because anyone that meets him instantly falls in love with him.
