I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream!

Nothing is as refreshing as a cold, creamy treat on a hot summer's day.

Patch searched the neighborhood for the most popular ice cream shops around. Stay cool and take the time to sample the wares at these local favorites. All you have to do is pick your cold treat and chill-out.

Custard’s First Stand, 4599 Telegraph Road
Turtle sundaes and concretes are house specialties. Their traditional chocolate malts are also best-sellers.

Oberweis Dairy, 4590 Telegraph Road
If you want to take your taste buds on a trip down memory lane, splurge and try a Banana Royal here. The cones here are exceptional when dipped in chocolate and dusted with nuts or sprinkles.

Rich’s Frozen Custard, 6065 Telegraph Road
Concretes are a big seller here, but be sure to consider some of their other house specialties. Their custom-made cakes and pies are local favorites for special occasions.

Elicia’s Pizza, 4401 Lemay Ferry Road
Elicia’s serves Ted Drewes frozen custard in pre-frozen cups. They usually have vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and Oreo.

Krispy Kreme, 6935 South Lindbergh Boulevard
The soft serve ice cream at Krispy Kreme comes in vanilla, dark chocolate or swirl. Take your pick of a cone or bowl, available 24 hours a day.

Dairy Queen, 4312 Telegraph Road and 3810 Lemay Ferry Road
The Blizzard is the best seller here and it comes in a wide variety of sizes and flavors. A new flavor, the Triple Chocoholic, is a new treat for the summer.
